Yoga is a term with 4 alphabets but the essence/importance of this term can not be even fully described in 4 billion words. If anyone asks you about the benefits of yoga, you claim that it improves flexibility, body balance, endurance, and strength. But this is not enough.


Meaning And Emergence of Yoga: 

Yoga, the oldest-known science of self-development, has been found to be the answer to the modern machine age, which is man's deepest need. It teaches us how to control the conditions of every part of the human body and also to improve it.


The term "Yoga" emerges in around the 2nd century during Indus Valley Civilization. The first yogi that is Adiyogi is seen as Lord Shiva and where Shiva comes it lasts till centuries.


Emergence of the word yoga, from the Sanskrit root word 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to unite' helps to attain real lasting peace.

Classification of Asana:

There are three types of classification of asanas which covers the whole body and mind.

1. Relaxative Asana:-  They help in reducing the physical and mental fatigue of our body and provide us with complete relaxation. Includes Shashankasana, Shavasana, Makar asana etc.


2. Dhayanatmak Asana:- Helps in boosting our immunity and give hikes to concentration power, that's why this asana should be performed or practiced in an open environment. Includes Padmasana, Vajrasana, Siddhasana, etc.


3. Corrective or Cultural asana:- They are helpful in providing efficiency and physical development of our body. Includes Mayur asana, Shalabh asana, Sarvang asana, etc.   


Some Interesting facts about yoga:-

  1. In India yoga is introduced in the 2nd century where as in America it is introduced in the 18th century. 

  2. More than half of the world population don't know that 21st June is celebrated as International Yoga Day.

  3. Yoga helps you to play long innings of life.

  4. If a Male practice yoga is known as " Yogis" and if Female practice yoga then they are known are " Yoginis".

 5. Massive yoga class ever joined by more than 2 lakh participants.

 6. Yoga includes more than 102 styles. 


Multi Beneficial Asana:

1. PAVAN MUKTASANA

       

This asana is beneficial for both the young and older generations. 

Youth suffers a lot from their acne problems and want their face to get smooth. So doing this asana 10 minutes daily in the morning will definitely prove beneficial for them. 

For older age group people who mostly suffer from acidity or gastric problems frequently, this is the complete solution for their problems. It removes all toxic from the body and maintain a healthy stomach that's why it is also known as "Wind Releasing Posture".

2. ARDHA MATSYENDRASANA 

              



This asana is beneficial for both the intestines large as well as small. The person suffering from multi diseases like diabetes mellitus, lower back pain, shoulder pain, and much more, this asana is beneficial for them. This asana cures the back pain from the root.

3. PASCHIMOTTANASAN


The benefit of this asana is that it cures peoples suffering from anxiety, frequent headaches, and backache. Those who have constipation problems can do this asana and they will get the results from day one itself.  

Simple asanas to cure life taking diseases:-

1. OBESITY 

           It is the condition in which a person's body contains 20% extra fat as compared to ideal body weight and this may cause heart disease and stroke. 


It's cure :

Vajrasana, Hastottanasana, Trikonasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana. 

2. DIABETES 

      It is the condition in which blood sugar levels, blood glucose levels are extremely high and it leads to the prevention of taking proper energy from the food you eat.


It's cure:

Bhujangasan, Paschinmottanasana, Pavan Muktasana. 

3. ASTHMA 

        It is a condition that creates breathing difficulties by swelling of breathing tubes. It may cause a condition of breathlessness to a person which may lead to a death of a person. 

 

It's cure:

Sukhasana, Chakrasana, Gomukhasana, Parvatasana, Matsyasana. 

4. HYPERTENSION

      This type of condition occurs when a person's blood pressure becomes abnormally high. This may cause diseases like heart failure, kidney failure, and stroke. 


It's cure:

Tadasana, Vajrasana, Pavan Muktasana, Shavasana. 

5. BACK PAIN

     This kind of pain basically originates from bones, joints, nerves or other structures in the back. This pain may lead to weak back muscles, generates obesity and disease like Arthritis. 


It's cure:

ShalaBhasana, Bhujangasan, Vakrasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana.
